Information Communication Technology Fundamentals

Course Descriptions:

The course is designed in such a way that students will have lab practical work supported by uninterrupted access to the internet and lecture. Topics covered in this course includes but not limited to: Software Engineering evolution, Computer Generation, Numbering System. Computer systems Architecture, Information Technology, types of software and programming languages, Data communication and Networking, Business process reengineering and selected topics in computer Science like knowledge management and so on.

Objectives:

  1. 1. Students will have exposure on specialised areas of Computer Science
  2. To have a clear idea on the application of ICT for Development, Education, Manufacturing etc.
  3. To expose students to office automation and business process modelling
  4. To use the Internet and communicate with individuals, companies, and others by sending and receiving messages. Exposure on World Wide Web, Web Design., etc
  5. To be fluent users of graphics, desktop publishing (books, magazines, newspapers and the like) and web browsing
  6. To create documents such as personal and commercial letters, memo, project proposals and papers, and so on.
  7. To work on spread sheets to perform calculations and summarize information
