Course Description:
Cover the bases and mechanisms of UNIX system administration. Starting with the key concepts, system administration duties, system organization, system installation and configuration; the course moves on to file-system architecture, and introduction to process management. Exercises covering these aspects of system administration are an integral part of the course.
Students learn how to administer a multi-user UNIX/LINUX computer system. Installing, configuring, and managing the system are incorporated into group hands-on activities. Students use the procedures to monitor and maintain the system to enhance use of the UNIX/LINUX operating system.
