Course Objectives

On successful completion of the course students will be able to:

• understand the fundamental and state-of-the art applications of Software engineering,
• understand and value the new technological trends,
• provide learners with technical knowledge and skills on how such technologies work, and
• provide practical skills of using tools and techniques for some of the recent technologies.

Course Description

The course will focus on recent trends in technological advancements and their application. It my include but not limited to the following issues; Distributed Systems, Embedded Systems, Information Systems and Engineering, The Internet with IPV6, Mobile, cloud and grid computing, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Cybersecurity, Search Engines, Big data analytics and open data, Natural Language and Image Processing, Blockchain (Bitcoin and other finance and sectoral applications), Digital Innovation.
